Indoor Country Fair - February 21, 2010, 3-7 pm
Please join us at our Indoor Country Fair Sunday, Febraury 21, from 3-7 pm at the Old Well Tavern in Simsbury! You will be able to check out some really unique items at our Country Fair Marketplace and have a great time listening to some top notch live music!
The event will feature a great country artist - Nicole Frechette and her 5 piece band; beer donated by the Farmington River Brewery (proceeds of beer sales going to FRWA); and the Old Well Tavern is donating 1/2 of its hot dog, hamburger and french-fries-in-a-cup sales to FRWA. Come out and join 200 of your fellow river lovers for a boot-stomping great time! Let's bring some southern sunshine into a late winter afternoon. Tickets are $15 per person. Please call the FRWA office (860-658-4442) to reserve tickets - as space is limited. |
Stretching across 33 towns and 609 square miles, the Farmington
River Watershed is an essential resource for life in Connecticut and
Massachusetts. The watershed supports abundant recreational
opportunities, unique fish, wildlife, and plant habitats, hydropower
generation, and is the first River in Connecticut to have a section
federally designated as Wild & Scenic. The
Watershed’s reservoirs and aquifers provide clean water
to about 1 million people (1/3rd of Connecticut’s entire population).
The Farmington River Watershed Association (FRWA), a 501©(3) non-profit environmental organization, has been
the guardian and champion of the Farmington River and its watershed since its inception in 1953. Today, FRWA conducts Research, Education, and Advocacy programs to fulfill its mission of protecting the Farmington River and the natural
resources of its watershed forever.
The Park River Watershed Revitalization Initiative (PRWRI) is a project of FRWA in the neighboring Park River watershed. Most of the Park River watershed is in West Hartford, Bloomfield, and Hartford. To learn more about PRWRI, click here. |
