FRWA has a great holiday gift suggestion for you this year. Our own Board Member and Local Artist Deborah Leonard designed this piece inspired by the River. This jewelry is available exclusively at Bill Selig Jewelers located in Simsbury and Windsor, CT.

“Wow that was amazing; if I had realized it would be so fun and energizing I would have invited all my friends to come with me” a woman commented after last year’s Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival. Now’s your chance, invite friends and family to come together and enjoy an afternoon matinee of inspirational environmental cinematography, with a green social networking intermission, to benefit the Watershed. The festival finishes in time for you and your friends to go out to eat and ponder the ideas presented by the filmmakers.
FRWA is excited to once again collaborate with REI West Hartford to host the 2nd Annual Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival in Hartford. This tour consists of a selection of films from the annual Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival that aims to inspire and motivate people to go out and make a difference in their community and around the world on a variety of environmental issues. The film subjects range from this year’s “People’s Choice Award” winning film The Last Descent, which chronicles world class kayakers descending some of the world’s most amazing rivers for possibly the last time, to the classic-style ski film Handcut. The festival seeks to inspire people through the vehicle of film to evaluate the local environmental issues affecting their community and protect our natural resources and wild places.
