Farmington River Watershed Association

With the help of members, volunteers and the community, the FRWA leads in the protection and restoration of the Farmington River. FRWA addresses issues that affect the river and its surrounding landscape through research, education and advocacy programs.

American Rivers just listed the Farmington River as one of the
Most Endangered Rivers of 2024.

Research & Water Quality Monitoring

It is vital for the Farmington River to provide clean, safe water for drinking, recreation, and wildlife. The FRWA staff and volunteers are able to work with residents, towns and the state to maintain and improve the water quality in our watershed.

Stewardship: Habitat Study & Restoration

In order to help protect the river and address its ongoing issues, it’s vital to know what and where the problems are. The FRWA provides a range of information on habitat studies and restoration while engaging in hands-on stewardship programs.
