Road Salt is Everywhere During Winter Months

We depend on road salts to allow us to travel safely in the wintertime, but they can be hazardous to natural ecosystems, pets, human health, and infrastructure. Help FRWA and the Izaak Walton League of America search for the saltiest streams in Connecticut and Massachusetts!

Two prize packages will be awarded:

The Saltiest Stream Award will go to the partcipant who submits the highest result

A raffle award will be chosen from a pool of all participants who meet qualifications*

*Participant qualifications:

Must submit 4 samples to Clean Water Hub by February 28, 2026

Samples must be collected from a stream or river

Data submittal must specify FRWA as your organization
